Non-point source management is a quickly evolving topic of environmental protection and regulation across the United States. It is especially a challenge in the Southeast, where rapid urbanization and soils with high clay content present numerous stormwater challenges. Fortunately, North Carolina appears to be at the forefront of many of these challenges with creative approaches to best management practices (BMPs), new development standards, and interdisciplinary partnerships. Below are some of the resources we rely upon to provide effective and efficient solutions to address the state's stormwater challenges. This list will grow and change as our understanding and tools evolve to better serve all of North Carolina's stormwater needs.
